Cafes and restaurants as function venues
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good cafe, restaurant or pub with food where I can hold a party? My requirements are something like this:
  • Maximum food budget $40 per head, suggestions for cheaper packages are very welcome!
  • 50–60 people in a private room (doesn't have to be the whole venue)
  • Available with approximately 2–3 month's notice
  • Can serve food that is suitable for people with very low spice tolerance (I have an elderly relative with Crohn's disease, which causes digestion problems, and several others who just don't like chilli)
  • Vegetarian options
  • Comfortable chairs (see aforementioned elderly relatives)
  • A little bit of atmosphere (be it view, or surrounds, or decor).
I am not terribly picky about location: the entire Sydney metro area or even the Mountains, the Central Coast or the Hunter will be considered. Some places I've already thought of: Zanzibar and The Oaks hotel.
Current Mood: curious

CBD Alfredos restaurant
Just had our corporate lunch at Alfredos in Circular Quay. Service and Food was great. I’m a pretty picky food eater and also like good service. The fact that we had 50 people there; it was a very smooth and pleasant experience. Entree: prawns/ricotta and pumpkin pancakes.Main-baby rack or lamb or grilled barra or grilled chicken with veggies etc. Plus Vino/Drinks/Cakes/Tea/Coffee...I believe that it cost $60 pp. The value was very much worth it.
The atmosphere was excellent. The interior was a little reminiscent of a Swiss interior cabin.
Hope this helps.

Does it need to be sit down or can it be cocktail?

It doesn't have to be anything: this post is three and a half years old and I found a wedding venue years ago. Thanks/
